Braces / Pediatric Dentistry

Children need a particularly high degree of care so that they can entrust themselves to us and allow necessary treatments. The first visits to the dentist should be as free of fear, stress and pain as possible for your child. We do everything we can to ensure that your child feels comfortable with us.

Our practice includes all classic and modern treatment methods of today's orthodontics. The human being as a whole plays an important role in holistic orthodontics. This benefits our patients in particular. Less pain, shorter sessions, one or the other tooth removal less and whole body asymmetries are treated at the same time.

Laughing gas anaesthesia
If necessary, we can also make the children forget the treatment by means of laughing gas sedation. This will spare them any unpleasant memories. Laughing gas can have a calming, pain-relieving and anti-gagging effect, is almost odourless and does not remain in the body for long.

Braces
Braces are dental appliances used to correct malpositioned teeth and jaws. It has proven to be useful to correct the first malocclusions of the milk teeth as early as the 4th year of life as part of early treatment in order to avoid maldevelopment of the jaw. Removable active plates and functional orthodontic devices influence the growth of the jaws and stabilize the jaw when the permanent teeth break through. The fine adjustment and removal of crowding in the permanent teeth is then usually carried out with fixed appliances (brackets). At the end, the treatment result is stabilized by means of retention devices.
Our orthodontic specialists adjust, insert and, if necessary, adjust the braces.

Which type of braces is the right one?
Which type of braces is the right one for you depends on the type of malposition. The age of the patient and aesthetic aspects also play a role and must not be disregarded when choosing the type of braces. As there is growth in milk teeth and mixed dentition, children and adolescents tend to work with loose braces. Adults tend to use fixed braces.

Different types of braces to correct malpositions
There are loose, removable braces for children and adolescents in growth. They influence the growth of the jaw and serve to regulate it. The second type of braces are fixed appliances whose brackets are fixed to the teeth with a special adhesive. These braces are used to correct the position of the teeth. The teeth are moved in the desired direction with the help of biomechanical wires.

The invisible braces: Aligner / Invisalign
In order to meet the highest aesthetic demands, there are both loose and fixed braces in inconspicuous and completely invisible variants.
Aligner therapy is an orthodontic treatment method for the largely invisible treatment of minor malocclusions, which works with a sequence of individually manufactured, thin and transparent plastic splints. These removable splints (aligners) are almost invisible on the teeth and are less obstructive in everyday life. So you can take them out when brushing your teeth and eating. The Invisalign braces also make speaking less difficult than other braces.

We will inform you about the advantages and disadvantages of the different braces and find the best solution together with you.
